My Trials & Errors With Eye Creams—From Super Pricey To #1 Sellers

So before I go into the details below, let me start by saying trust me when I say I’ve tried A LOT of eye creams over the years, so when I say this is my fav that is not something to take lightly LOL!  Remember, I worked in the cosmetic industry in management for years post-college graduation, so I received a ton of eye creams from NORDSTROM and other top beauty brands to try completely FREE + major discounts!  I’ve tried everything from the high-end Creme De La Mer “The Eye Balm Intense” ($215.00), which I must say I was sorely disappointed in the fact that their line is SO expensive and uses cheap, toxic-fillers, like mineral oil, to create a faux “hydrated” feel to the skin temporarily with no real long-term results; to top selling Kiehl’s “Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado” ($29.00), which at one point was my favorite, due to it’s intense hydrating properties—but then I thought it was making me break-out from the parabens listed in the ingredients.  Once again, being honest, I was a bit disappointed, because it seemed so hydrating and I couldn’t believe parabens were in a brand that markets itself to be more “healthy” and “natural.”  While I wanted to believe the beautiful marketing of all these gorgeous eye creams in their unique jars, applicators and tubs—one cream after the other, nothing ever seemed up to par, more of a temporary fix, since I didn’t to be using something.

Resorting to Body Lotion Under My Eyes!

After trying many, many, MANY eye creams, I was so disappointed by the results and the high-sticker prices, you won’t believe what I resorted to using… Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion (you know, the one in pretty much every household with the ivory and green bottle that promises to hydrate for 24 hours).  I know, super random.  However with my knowledge as a Skincare Expert, I knew that the eye cream’s ability to retain moisture under the eye area was crucial to allow the skin to have a “bounce back” effect when making facial expressions and none of the eye creams seemed to hydrate my eyes like Aveeno.  Deep down though, I know this wasn’t up to par long-term, becausea truly great eye cream has the deep hydration quailities mixed with anti-aging ingredients added that have the ability to increase cell turn-over and decrease wrinkles.  So I was still on the look-out, while enjoying the benefits of my temporarily lowered beauty budget each month.

Enter… doTERRA Natural Anti-Aging Eye Cream

Once it arrived, the first thing I noticed about the doTERRA Anti-Aging Eye Cream was just how much the packaging looked just like the Eminense Organics Hibiscus Ultra Lift Eye Cream high-end eye cream ($96), at half the price!  I have no idea how doTERRA was able to get away with it, but I didn’t care… I could get the same de-puffiness benefits from the unique applicator and built-in rollerball at a fraction of the price—I’ll take it!  When you look at the eye cream image in my Blog post below and in my video tutorial, you will see the eye cream is unique in its white slender tube and most important is the silver rollerball at the top that is incredibly valuable for those of us who get puffiness under our eyes.  This unique, cool, rolling sphere literally “irons-out” puffiness under the eyes waking up tired eyes in the morning, by moving around blocked moisture and cooling the eyes, much like the traditional spa cucumbers and tea bag effect without all the hassle!  The next thing I noticed was how incredibly calming the eye cream was and that it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin and eye area (nobody wants to trade preventing wrinkles long-term for red, irritated eyes in the present).  Last, I noticed how incredibly long the eye cream hydrated the skin around my eyes hours later—it felt almost as hydrating as my Aveeno lotions (not quite as dense, but almost)!  What really won me over and made this doTERRA eye cream a part of my everyday skincare routine is the benefits I just listed combined with the powerful ingredients!  While I’ve listed every ingredient below for you all to check out, Frankincense (called below), is known for preventing and getting rid of wrinkles, scars, discoloration (i.e. dark circles) amongst many other benefits and is one of the most powerful essential oils out there.  All doTERRA essential oils and products are “indigenous”, meaning the plants are sourced where they grow naturally and are not forced to grow in environments they would otherwise not thrive in.  This is important, because most if not all other essential oil companies do not due this, therefore not all oils are created equal because the quality of the plant is compromised.  So, what does all this essential oil jargon mean to YOU?!  …YOU won’t get the same results using lower quality oils, so you are wasting your time and money.  I absolutely love that this eye cream, because it checks all my non-negotiable boxes (wrinkles, dark circles, puffiness), plus had added perks (all-natural, indigenous Frankincense, rollerball applicator).  I noticed results right away like it marketed; it claims to fill-in fine lines instantly and have already noticed results over-time.
