DISCOVER TOP 4 REASONS TO USE COCONUT OIL!

By: Heather Hooke

From clear glowing skin to long luscious locks, discover the health & beauty benefits of doTERRA fractionated coconut oil!

So what is the difference between normal cooking coconut oil and doTERRA “fractionated” coconut oil? Well, I’m so glad you asked! In a nutshell, the difference is “fractionated” means they take the fat out, meaning the oil won’t clog the pores and will promote clear, hydrated skin no matter what your skin type.

In addition, fractionated coconut oil is the ideal oil to use because it’s odorless, colorless and won’t stain fabrics or clothes. So, this is without a doubt one of my favs when it comes to mixing with other essential oils! Below are 4 reasons to incorporate fractionated coconut oil into your essential oil routine:

1. Sensitive Skin / “Hot” Oils:
If you have extremely sensitive skin, you will want to incorporate fractionated coconut oil. Simply add about a dime to a quarter size amount to the 1-3 drops of essential oils you would normally use. This will “dilute” the concentrated, potent essential oils and will create a nice transition to the essential oils lifestyle! In addition, even if you are not uber sensitive, I would highly recommend adding this carrier oil to any “hot oils” – think Oregano, cinnamon and peppermint oils. To take the guesswork out, you can look up any oils in the Modern Essentials book (aka the Essential Oil “bible” I swear by) and it will specify if an oil is considered “hot” indicating “S” for “sensitive” skin or “D” guiding you to “dilute” as you are learning!

2. Children:
…which we’ll be able to relate to sooner than later! ???? Based on the feature above, this one is a bit more common sense. Remember, Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils are highly concentrated and potent, which is why they produce results; at the same time, it’s important to dilute them to ensure they are safe and effective for your little ones. When in doubt, less is more even when something is 100% natural and so adding a carrier oil like 100% natural fractionated coconut oil can be the perfect partner for your little babe’s oil!

3. Cover Large Area Of The Body:
Fractionated coconut oils is commonly used alone to moisturizer the skin, preventing early signs of wrinkles and aging, without leaving an “oily” residue or paired with your favorite essential oils to assist in covering a larger area of the body. Wheather you are using all natural essential oils for therapeutic benefit or as a natural, healthier alternative to sinthetic perfumes, mixing with fractionated coconut oil will ensure the oils last and that you’re not going through you’re bottles of essential oils like they are going out of style! For instance, think back massage, I reccommend applying 3-5 drops of doTERRA Soothing Blend with the rest fractionated coconut oil verses 50 drops of the essential oil. This will save you time and money – while still providing therapeutic benefits for you or a loved one.

4. Cheap Deep Conditioner:
One of my favorite ways to incorporate 100% natural Fractionated Coconut Oil into my beauty routine is as a deep conditioner once a week! This adds moisture, shine and has made SUCH a difference in strengthening each strand of my hair from the inside out, preventing breakage, which has in-turn made my hair grow SUPER long, super fast! Until next time namaste BEYOUtiful xo!
